AIR Center hosted a meeting with the delegation of the Air War College Institute of Pakistan

On April 30, the Center of Analysis of International Relations (AIR Center) hosted a meeting with the delegation of the Air War College Institute of Pakistan.

Touching upon the friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan, Chairman of the Board of the AIR Center Farid Shafiyev pointed out Pakistan’s principled stance on Azerbaijan's sovereignty and territorial integrity during the 3-decade-long Armenian occupation. According to him, not only did Pakistan support Azerbaijan on multilateral platforms, but it also individually made public statements, thereby expressing an unequivocal commitment to our fair position. F. Shafiyev noted that Azerbaijan also shares a principled position on many issues concerning Pakistan.

Farid Shafiyev briefed the guests about the historical background of the South Caucasus, the present-day regional dynamics, Azerbaijan’s foreign policy priorities, and its contributions to the transportation and connectivity projects.

Stressing Azerbaijan’s commitment to peace and multilateralism, Farid Shafiyev underscored that reaching peace with Armenia, maintaining good neighborly relations, as well as conducting proactive, pragmatic and balanced foreign policy prevails in Azerbaijan’s agenda.

AIR Center Chairman drew attention to the double standard policies exercised by some countries, thereby highlighting its detrimental effects on achieving durable peace in the region. He also stressed the need of intensifying regular contacts with the Pakistani think-tanks.

For his part, chief instructor at Air War College Institute of Pakistan Shaheen Idreese expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome. He stressed the importance of understanding international dynamics and preparing adaptive mechanisms. Chief instructor Shaheen Idreese also briefed about the Air War College Institute of Pakistan and its activities.

The meeting was followed by discussions on the top issues regional and global significance.
